What is the best way to perform a general search?
Keyword searching provides the most comprehensive and inclusive list of search results.

What is the best way to search for a particular image?
If you know the exact title, use the Simple Search screen and choose "Title."
If you do not know the exact title, but you know part of it, use the "Title" option on the Advanced Search screen with "these words" selected.

What is the best way to search for a particular artist?
On the Simple Search screen, use "Creator."

How do you search if you do not know the exact spelling or form of the word?
You may use the "?" symbol to truncate words and to search for alternate forms of the word. For example, "photo?" searches "photographs" and "photographique." For alternate spellings of the same word, "colo?r" retrieves both "color" and "colour."
